Getting started
What is UptimeAnchor?
UptimeAnchor is an uptime monitoring service: it regularly checks websites, APIs, servers, ports, DNS records, cron jobs, SSL certificates and domains, and alerts you as soon as something stops working.
Do I need to install anything on my servers?
No. All checks run from our probes spread across multiple regions. Only for heartbeats does your job call a UptimeAnchor URL, with a simple HTTP request.
How long does it take to get started?
Less than a minute: create an account, enter the URL to check and choose where to receive alerts. The first check runs immediately.
Can I use UptimeAnchor for my clients' websites?
Yes, even on the Free plan. Paid plans let you create multiple status pages with custom domains, and the Team plan lets you remove UptimeAnchor branding.
Monitoring
How often are checks run?
Every 5 minutes on the Free plan, every minute on the Solo and Team plans and down to every 30 seconds on the Enterprise plan. You can choose a longer interval for each monitor.
Where are checks run from?
From our probes in Milan, Frankfurt, Ashburn, San Jose and Singapore. Depending on your plan you can check each monitor from one or more regions.
How do you avoid false alarms?
Before an incident is opened, a failure has to repeat over several consecutive checks and, if the monitor uses multiple regions, be confirmed by another probe.
What is a heartbeat monitor?
It's a reverse monitor: instead of UptimeAnchor contacting your service, your cron job or script calls a unique URL when it finishes. If the signal doesn't arrive on time, we alert you.
Alerts
Which channels can I receive alerts on?
Email, SMS, voice call, webhook, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Telegram, Google Chat, Mattermost, PagerDuty, Opsgenie, Pushover, Splunk On-Call and Zapier.
Are SMS messages included?
Paid plans include a monthly number of credits for SMS and voice calls: 20 on Solo, 100 on Team and 500 on Enterprise.
Can I mute alerts during maintenance?
Yes. With maintenance windows, available from the Solo plan, you schedule one-off or recurring work during which the affected monitors don't send alerts.
Status pages
Can I use my own domain for the status page?
Yes, from the Solo plan. Just create a CNAME record such as status.yourdomain.com pointing to UptimeAnchor and connect it from the dashboard.
Can I make a status page private?
Yes, from the Solo plan you can protect it with a password, for example to show it only to customers or partners.
Can visitors receive updates?
Yes. With email subscriptions, available from the Solo plan, subscribers get a notification for every incident and resolution.

Where is my data stored?
